The Milners in Capetown

After both completing their studies at the Bible Institute, Kalk Bay, Brian & Lorraine joined Africa Evangelical Fellowship in 1974.  They ministered for 11 years in the Christian Ministry to Miners. Then they had a short time in Child Evangelism Fellowship and went on to minister in Scripture Union for 13 years. After that they returned to AEF at the time that it merged with SIM. They served in the SIM (Serving in Mission) sending office for 6 years and then God called them to start a media ministry, with SIM Ethnic Focus, producing DVD media for outreach and teaching purposes. They have produced media for adults, adolescents and older children up to now. Their next project which they are developing is outreach and teaching for young children. They plan to use puppets telling the Gospel lessons. They will be filming an accomplished puppeteer and children’s worker.

Dear Friends,

Greetings to you all in our Saviour’s wonderful Name.

As we will be celebrating the miraculous birth of our saviour soon, let us think of Jesus. In Luke 1:32 it says “Jesus will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David”, and verse 33 continues “He will reign over the house of Jacob forever; His kingdom will never end”

As believers we can rejoice that Jesus, our Saviour, came to earth as a baby – then later died on the cross for our sins, and then rose again. Now He is in Heaven, reigning forever! One day we will see Him face to face in glory. Hallelujah what a Saviour!

We praise the Lord for enabling us to continue making DVDs for outreach to children, using puppets to teach the Bible lessons and the Good News of the Gospel. A number of people have been ordering the DVDs in South Africa. A fellow missionary was so keen to use our DVDs in Zimbabwe and southern Africa, where he ministers amongst children. He is also having a camp for 500 children in December, in Zimbabwe. Please pray for the salvation of many children – especially as they hear the Gospel over this Christmas period.

God enabled us to make 2 new “interactive” DVDs this year, where the older children need to answer questions by using the left and right arrow keys, and the OK key, on the remote – in order to choose the right answer. The DVD only continues running when they choose the correct answer. This has been a wonderful challenge for us and we have succeeded through God’s grace and help. We are busy preparing lessons for the 8 to 10 year olds now. We have also been producing more puppets for this series.

Our elder son Dale and his wife Madge and their family are still in Queenstown, E. Cape, at the moment. They are expecting their 4th child on the 8 February 2015, God willing. We are so glad Jonathan will have a brother to play with at home while his 2 older sisters are at school. Next year Hannah will be in Grade 3 and Rebekah will start in Grade 1.

We still miss our only daughter, Charmaine, as part of the family, especially at Christmas time – but we are glad that she is with her Saviour in Glory.

Our younger son Andrew and his wife Christy live near us in Edgemead. Their daughter Anastasia is now 17 months old and she loves her “Day Care” teachers. Anastasia will move up into the toddler’s class in January. We went to watch her first concert recently, what an excellent performance it was, for such young children!

May you have a blessed Christmas worshipping Jesus, with family and friends.

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement for us this past year.

Yours together in His service,

Brian and Lorraine Milner.
